During the photography
workshop “Role Models & Power Relations” I wanted to work on
domestic violence. It is obvious that alcohol use does lead to brutality.
I started to explore the wine shops in Chennai. As I`m a foreigner
and a woman it wasn`t obvious to stay and take photos in this places… I would
like to say thank you to my drivers Mathi and Rameshbabu who were my guides and
bodyguards.
What surprised me that people come just for a quick drink. In
Russia we will sit and eat and talk for example. The attitude of men was shameful
or funny, never indifferent.
